Gazprom Transgaz Ufa summarizes results of Breaking Barriers social project

Gazprom Transgaz Ufa, the Ministry of Family Affairs, Labor and Social Welfare of the Republic of Bashkortostan, and the Breaking Barriers Social Technologies Center looked back at the results of the eponymous inter-regional social project in 2018.

It was the sixth consecutive year that this noble endeavor gathered together thousands of children with disabilities, their parents, workers of rehabilitation centers, and everyone who feels passionate about the cause.

The Breaking Barriers project comprises a number of social initiatives. Now spanning across several Bashkirian cities, the Walk with Me campaign has since the time of its inception in 2017 seen Ufa residents take more than 100 walks with over 1,000 children with disabilities. The Window to the World campaign, aimed at collecting and repairing used computer devices and then distributing them among disadvantaged children, continues to bring computer technologies to those who need them. Last year, the Breaking Barriers Social Technologies Center collected 42 devices. The I Know How to Live initiative is focused on holding educational seminars and psychological training sessions for children with disabilities and their parents. In 2018, it united 57 children and 42 adults. Like in previous years, the social project culminated in the children’s creativity festival Breaking Barriers. A total of 280 applications to take part in the gala event were received from 33 Russian regions, Belarus, and Ukraine. The concert was attended by 740 young spectators from all over Bashkortostan.

Among the official partners of Breaking Barriers in 2018 were members of the Gazprom in Bashkortostan Association: SOGAZ INSURANCE, Gazprom Transgaz Ufa, Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Ufa, Gazprom Gazoraspredeleniye Ufa, Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat, and the Ufa branch of Gazprombank.
