Young employees of Gazprom Transgaz Saratov organize tourist convention

Gazprom Transgaz Saratov providing charity support in setting up OPLOT summer camp

On July 12–14, a tourist convention for the youth organized by the employees of Gazprom Transgaz Saratov on the occasion of the company’s 55th anniversary took place at the children’s summer camp named after Yuri Gagarin in the Engels District of the Saratov Region.

The event brought together over 200 participants, including the company’s employees, as well as the children spending their vacation in the OPLOT 2019 outdoor summer camp of the Saratov Regional Organization for Sobriety & Health Society. For several consecutive years, this non-governmental organization has been arranging summer recreation for disadvantaged teenagers, and its outdoor summer camp is set up with charity support from Gazprom Transgaz Saratov.

The employees of Gazprom Transgaz Saratov participated in an orienteering competition, which was held at the landing site of pilot and cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. An educational-and-entertaining activity, as well as team events involving various sports and technical challenges, were offered to the young OPLOT 2019 campers during the convention period. As part of the environmental campaign, the company’s employees told the young teenagers about the latest energy saving technologies being applied at production facilities of Gazprom Transgaz Saratov, and shared their personal everyday tips on energy saving.

Background

Gazprom Transgaz Saratov is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gazprom. The gas transmission system operated by the company provides for the regulation and redistribution of natural gas flows from Western Siberia, Central Asia, the Orenburg Region, and three UGS facilities located in the Saratov Region.

The company is in charge of over 7,000 kilometers of gas trunklines and branches, 29 compressor shops, 169 gas compressor units with a total capacity of 1.3 million kW, and 215 gas distribution stations. The company also operates six CNG filling stations.

Gazprom Transgaz Saratov adopted the ISO 14001 environmental management system and the OHSAS 18001:2007 occupational and industrial safety management system. The company employs around 6,000 people. It is headquartered in Saratov.
