Oleg Aksyutin, Deputy Chairman of the Management Committee, Head of Department at Gazprom, and Petr Mishnev, Technical Development & Quality Director of Severstal Management, today signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019 an updated Scientific and Technical Cooperation Program.
The ceremony took place in the presence of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee.
The document, which was to remain in effect until 2021, is extended until 2023. The program is supplemented with new types of tubular products, the production of which is planned to be launched by Severstal. These products include large-diameter pipes withstanding pressures of up to 32 MPa; pipes of K65 strength class with increased deformation capacity; pipes with a working temperature of up to 400 degrees Celsius; pipes for transporting liquefied natural gas; and pipes with innovative coatings for thermal insulation and corrosion protection.
The updated Scientific and Technical Cooperation Program is aimed at providing high-tech equipment for the promising projects of Gazprom, including offshore ones, and reducing costs when building and operating gas trunklines.
Background
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019 is being held at the EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 6 to 8. This year’s key topic is Creating a Sustainable Development Agenda.
In October 2016, Gazprom signed the updated scientific and technical cooperation programs until 2021 with Russia’s leading pipe producers, including Severstal.
