A working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Francois Fillon, French politician, took place today in St. Petersburg.
The parties touched upon the current trends in the French and European gas markets, while also highlighting the successful operation of the Nord Stream gas pipeline and the importance of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline construction for enhancing the energy security of European countries.
Particular attention was paid to the cultural and sports projects of Gazprom.
Background
The Nord Stream (in operation) and Nord Stream 2 (under construction) gas pipelines run from Russia to Germany across the Baltic Sea. The design capacity of each pipeline is 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
