“DYNAMO” SPORTS PARK
The park is like a link between several residential blocks of the Dynamo district spreading from Leningradsky Avenue to the reconstructed “Dynamo” stadium, Arena Plaza district and the designed “Dynamo” Sports Academy.
Today we have a chance to give back territory its original unique function of being a sports park, to make it friendly, animated and safe. The 8-hectare green park will provide the residents with tranquility and protection against noise and turmoil separating the residential district from the stadium with its intensive event program.

is an overall reconstruction and refurbishment of Dynamo Central Stadium and its surrounding area that
combines a contemporary approach to sports and entertainment industry, a unique location within the historical green area in the heart of Moscow, a perfect blend of modernity and dynamism, while maintaining the best sports and historical traditions.
The project named VTB Arena park is an outstanding example of an innovative approach to arrangement of the living space in the metropolis. The project perfectly combines sports, entertainment, commercial and residential facilities:
VTB Arena – Dynamo Central Stadium – a multifunctional sports and entertainment complex being created as part of the overall reconstruction of the Stadium and other sports facilities on the territory of the legendary Russian Stadium that has seen a lot of great victories. Location of the Stadium and Arena under one roof within the boundaries of the existing walls makes the Project unique not only in Russia but also in Europe.
Residential area “Arena Park” comprises modern hospitality, dwelling, office and shopping spaces that create comfortable and tranquil conditions for living, development and rest of a person as well as raise the Project’s profitability.

VTB Arena – Central Stadium Dynamo
The Dynamo Central stadium has always been the country’s sports Mecca from the very first day of its existence.
To restore the grandeur of the Stadium, to revive its former glory, to win back thousands of its devout visitors are the main priorities of the project.
VTB Arena – Dynamo Central Stadium will combine two venues under one roof: the Arena and the Stadium along with the entertainment and leisure complex designed for convivial and gripping pastime before and after the sports events. This venue would become a place where visual appeal is the main criterion of what is going on.
In 2010 VTB Arena park project executives engaged the specialized Manica Arhitecture bureau represented by its founder and renowned architect Mr. David Manica in detailed development of the project concept which is tailored for improving functionality of the building and ensuring its constructability so that ultimately all our efforts resulted in a unique sports and entertainment complex in our country. Among the projects performed by Manica Architecture there are the following riveting facilities such as Lusail World Cup 2022 Stadium (Doha, Qatar), Mercedes-Benz Arena (Shanghai), Beijing Olympic Basketball Arena (Beijing, China) and stirring the imagination the O2 Arena in London.
This is Mr. Manica’s evaluation of his contribution to the project: “VTB Arena park is one of the most fascinating and exciting projects that I have ever had a chance to work on. If you look at the facilities and buildings that have already been constructed throughout the world you will not find any venue absolutely similar to this one. Integrating a large sport stadium and a multi-use arena that look as if they are ‘hung’ above the retail and entertainment center and the preserved historic wall of the stadium, this project is undoubtedly a new reference standard for similar development projects throughout the world. VTB Arena park will be a place for the city residents and visitors to the capital to enjoy throughout the year for many decades”.
The project involves usage of innovative ideas, new technologies and materials. The roof, for instance, will be made of transparent materials application of which has only become possible over the last 2 decades and a huge glass wall with inbuilt LED strips allowing to convert the glass into a gigantic video screen at night will be installed over the South façade facing Leningradsky avenue and Dynamo metro station.
The total capacity of Dynamo Central stadium is 26 319 seats. The Arena has 3 configurations: hockey configuration with 11 488 seats, basketball configuration – 12 770 seats, concert configuration– 14 000 seats and this process takes only a few hours. In terms of technical equipment this venue will be the most cutting-edge concert stage in Moscow. The project team has examined all known technical riders of modern world shows that can hardly be implemented presently at Moscow stadiums, and taking the international experience into account, has formulated respective technical requirements for reconstruction of the historical Dynamo Stadium.
The total area of the entertainment and leisure complex is 30 000 sq.m.
The underground parking for 733 lots is planned to be built in the sports and entertainment complex.
Opening of VTB Arena – Dynamo Central stadium is scheduled for the 22nd of October to coincide with Mr. Lev Yashin’s birthday, the best goalkeeper ever according to FIFA.
This solemn occasion will be marked by the first match hosted at the renovated stadium.
Dynamo Sports Park
The Park binds several residential quarters in Dynamo district, spreading from Leningradskiy Prospekt to Dynamo Stadium being reconstructed, to the building of Dynamo Sports Academy being designed and Arena Park urban district being constructed.
Today it became possible to return to this territory the unique function of Dynamo physical culture and sports Park, to make the Park friendly, vivid and safe. Eighty thousand square meters of the green Park will ensure quietness and absolute protection for the residents from noise and vanity, by separating the residential area from the Stadium hosting plenty of events.
The renovated park – one of Dynamo district’s pearls – will become a real Moscow sight. The historical park zone will be preserved and landscaped; there will be paths, cycling and roller tracks, playgrounds, game zones, grounds for sports and many other opportunities for leisure and outdoor activities. Nowadays there are almost no more places in the center of Moscow where people can relax from vanity nearby their homes or offices, spend time outdoors with their friends and family. History
One of the main values of VTB Arena park project is respect for historical heritage, commitment to experience and values of previous generations. And here the Project has a lot of things to value and to be guided by.
Even in such a huge city like Moscow it is difficult to find a place where the history of architecture, sport and country are so closely intertwined.
When construction of Petrovsky Palace was started here at the end of the 18th century, the neighborhood of the Palace of the royal family became a place where the cottages (dachas) of the Moscow nobility were located. The 19th century presented the Muscovites with the wonderful Petrovsky Park, which in the shade of its ancient trees gives a sense of serenity and harmony.
In the USSR this area acquired a new significance – Dynamo Central Stadium, the largest sports complex at that time was opened here, a part of Petrovsky Park turned into a sports area called Dynamo Sports and Physical Education Park. Traditions that have become time-honored now are followed by a new generation.
