The Gazprom Group took part in the Safe Arctic 2025 extensive inter-agency experimental research exercises which are held by the Russian Emergencies Ministry.
Gazprom provides a high level of reliability and industrial safety at the production facilities, including those located in the Arctic. The Company adopts advanced technologies and cutting-edge machinery and maintains readiness for prompt responses to and elimination of emergencies. All types of emergency response and rescue units are constantly functioning at Gazprom to ensure gas, fire and blowout safety both offshore and onshore, as well as to prevent oil spills.
Today, scenarios of actions to be taken by the Russian Unified State System for the Prevention and Elimination of Emergency Situations (RSChS) were practiced as part of the Safe Arctic 2025 exercises at Gazprom’s facilities in the Yamal-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Areas.
During the exercises, training activities were successfully performed to practice information exchange between headquarters at different levels and fire & rescue units of Gazprom and the Emergencies Ministry of Russia; ways to apply special, fire-fighting, rescue, and robotic equipment; and the practical actions of firefighters and rescue workers to be implemented during rescue operations in the harsh conditions of the Arctic.
The results of exercises will be taken into account to further advance safety measures at industrial facilities in the Far North.
