Korsakov Central District Hospital receives new equipment from Sakhalin Energy

The Korsakov Central District Hospital has received new equipment from Sakhalin Energy. The funds for purchasing the required medical devices and consumables were provided within the Prevention and Treatment project, the company’s initiative aimed at supporting the healthcare institutions of the Sakhalin Region. The project is designed to provide the healthcare workers of Sakhalin Island with the means for COVID-19 prevention and treatment. The main feature of the initiative is that healthcare professionals chose the most in-demand equipment and consumables themselves; the company donated RUB 2,750,000 to the Hospital for these purposes.

“It is crucial to do everything necessary in present-day conditions to prevent the pandemic from spreading, as well as to protect people’s health and provide treatment to the diseased. This is especially relevant today, at the beginning of the autumn/winter season, which is usually fraught with outbreaks of acute respiratory diseases, such as influenza. In view of all this, our company pays special attention to equipping medical facilities and to creating the conditions required for prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. This is what our project seeks to do,” said Konstantin Kokorin, Head of the Occupational Health and Hygiene Division at Sakhalin Energy.

Representatives of the Korsakov Central District Hospital received ultraviolet bactericidal air recirculators, portable pulse oximeters, 400-liter and 250-liter pharmaceutical refrigerators, non-contact thermometers, as well as various consumables for respiratory therapy, infusion therapy, and for anesthesia.

“The Korsakov Central District Hospital expresses its deep appreciation to Sakhalin Energy for very substantial assistance in equipping medical units with necessary consumables, oxygen ventilators and physiological monitoring systems. I am confident that together we have saved numerous human lives. Is there anything worthier and nobler than that? We sincerely hope that this truly beneficial humanitarian cooperation will be continued,” pointed out Yury Baskakov, Deputy Chief Doctor of the Korsakov Central District Hospital.

Yury Baskakov stated that the company’s aid is timely and essential, especially considering that the Hospital has become one of the two main centers for inpatient treatment of COVID-19 patients coming from all areas of the Sakhalin Region.

Sakhalin Energy earlier granted a medical testing device (amplifier) to the Fyodor Ankudinov City Hospital in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, and before that – oxygen concentrators to the Sakhalin Regional Hospital.
