Along with the costume details it is possible to see the beautiful series of the porcelain sculptures called Ethnic Groups of Russia. This series was made at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St. Petersburg times to the 300th anniversary of the House of Romanov in 1913.
The project was conduct by famous sculptor Pavel Pavlovich Kamensky (1858-1922). Masters from the Imperial Factory, A. Lukin, P. Shmakov, I. Zotov, A. Dietrich, etc, were involved in moulding. M. Gertsak painted the most figurines.
In making figurines, they followed artistic principles based on representation of anthropological features and costumes of each ethnic group. Making costumes, the sculptor and artists followed scientific materials and exhibits from the Ethnographic Department of the Russian Museum (now called the RME) and the MAE.
