OMZ-SPECIAL STEEL (St.Petersburg) and ENERGOMASHSPETSSTAL (Kramatorsk) have produced the first forgings for reactor vessels for Units 7 and 8 of Tianwan NPP (China). The Units are being constructed with technical assistance of ASE (Engineering Division of ROSATOM).
According to Alexey Bannik, ASE Vice president for Сhina projects, “these events signal the commencement of production of long-lead manufacture equipment within the framework of implementation of General Contract for construction of Tianwan NPP Units 7 and 8 concluded between ASE EC JSC and Suneng Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (China) in March 2019”.
The pouring of first concrete at Unit 7 is scheduled for May 2021.
For reference:
Tianwan NPP is the largest facility built within the framework the Russian-Chinese economic cooperation. The start-up of the first stage of Tianwan NPP (power units 1, 2) was held in 2007. These first two units generate above 15 billion KW/hour of electric power annually. The commercial operation of power unit No.4 of Tianwan NPP is planned for 2019.
ASE (Rosatom State Corporation Engineering Division) was established by integration of the leading companies of the industry: ASE EC JSC (Nizhny Novgorod), Atomstroyexport JSC (Moscow), Atomenergoproekt JSC (Moscow) and ATOMPROEKT JSC (St.-Petersburg). ASE is one of the leaders in the global nuclear power engineering business holding about 30% of the global NPP construction market. Engineering Division carries out its activities in Europe, Middle East and Northern Africa as well as in the Asia-Pacific region. 80% of the portfolio include foreign projects. The Division implements design and construction projects for high-power NPPs, renders a full range of EPC, EPC(M) services and develops Multi-D technologies for management of complex engineering facilities.
