Rosatom took an active part in the VII International Exhibition and the XI Nuclear Industry Summit NPPES-2025 in Istanbul (Türkiye), which ended on July 2, 2025.
At the opening ceremony, Anton Dedusenko, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Akkuyu Nuclear JSC (Rosatom State Corporation company) welcomed the forum guests and participants. He noted: “We firmly believe that in any circumstances, including turbulent times, there is place for international cooperation based on objective needs and mutual business-like understanding between partners. The implementation of the Akkuyu NPP project continues, and we are grateful to our Turkish partners for the joint efforts in finding new footholds where necessary. Generally, NPP projects, with their decades-long lifecycles, demonstrate resilience to external changes, and we do our best to ensure that Akkuyu NPP project serves as yet another confirmation of this.”
The importance of the Akkuyu NPP project for the development of the Turkish energy sector was highlighted by Esra Songur, Director of Sustainable Development at Akkuyu Nuclear JSC. She noted that the construction of the nuclear power plant has a multiplier effect on the Turkish economy. “This is not only a large-scale construction project today but also a stable source of energy for the future. Türkiye receives a nuclear power plant on its territory, personnel trained to work at nuclear power plants and, importantly, a comprehensive roadmap for the developing nuclear energy that can facilitate future NPP projects based on the experience gained.”
