On April 16, within the framework of the XIth International Forum “ATOMEXPO-2019” in Sochi, the agreement of intent was signed between the Rosatom Technical Academy and the Agency for the Development of Nuclear Energy under the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan (“Uzatom” Agency).
The agreement was signed by the Rector of the Rosatom Technical Academy, Yurii Seleznev, and Deputy Director General of the “Uzatom Agency”, Bahram Mansurov.
The agreement establishes further practical steps to implement the Memorandum of Cooperation in Education and Training in the Field of Nuclear Energy, which was signed on October 19, 2018 by the Rosatom State Corporation, the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the “Uzatom” Agency.
In accordance with the Agreement, in 2019, teachers of Uzbekistan will have the opportunity to attend training courses conducted by the Rosatom Technical Academy in cooperation with Russian universities. First of all, it refers to the training of teachers for the branch of the leading Russian nuclear university National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering Physics Institute) in Tashkent, the opening of which is expected this autumn. In addition, representatives of Uzbekistan will take part in international conferences and jubilee events dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the launch of the first nuclear power station in the world (Obninsk) held at the Rosatom Technical Academy.
Within the framework of the agreements reached by the parties, the issue of providing the necessary educational literature on nuclear energy to the specialized educational organizations of Uzbekistan will be worked out.

The Agency for the Development of Nuclear Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan (“Uzatom” Agency), established in July 2018 in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, is the governmental body responsible for developing and implementing a unified state policy and strategic directions in the development and use of nuclear energy. The task list of the Agency also includes the organization of a system for training, retraining and advanced training of personnel, including that at leading foreign institutions.
The Autonomous Non-Profit Organization of Additional Vocational Education Rosatom Technical Academy is the organization specializing in additional vocational education, professional retraining of managers and specialists in nuclear energy and industry, personnel certification.
The organization is an educational, scientific and methodological centre of the ROSATOM in the field of ensuring the safe use of nuclear energy, control, state security, operational and supporting processes, and also provides for the activities of the training anti-terrorism centre for the protection of nuclear facilities and materials of the ROSATOM which it is the part of, and is the international educational and methodological centre in the field of nuclear security in the area of training specialists of the CIS and other interested states in the field of accounting, control and physical protection of nuclear facilities, detection of nuclear materials (NM) and radioactive substances (RS), nuclear forensics and response to nuclear incidents with the use of NM and RS. In cooperation with the IAEA and the “Rosenergoatom Kontsern” JSC, the Academy implements training programs for the countries that have embarked on the development of nuclear energy. The quality management system of the Rosatom Technical Academy complies with the international standard ISO 9001:2015.
