ROSATOM’s team became the leader of WorldSkills Hi-Tech 2019

The ROSATOM’s combined team became the leader in the number of awards at the 4th National Championship of Cross-Industry Trade Jobs in High-Technology Industries to the WorldSkills methodology (WorldSkills Hi-Tech 2019) which was held from October 28 till November 1 in Yekaterinburg.

This year, specialists of 16 to 49 years old could take part in the key competitions due to expansion of the limiting age. Owing to that WorldSkills Hi-Tech 2019 became the largest event in the history of the championship.

738 competitors from Russia and eight foreign states participated in the contest. They rivaled for 66 gold, 55 silver and 50 bronze medals in 48 competences. Russia was represented by employees from 39 largest companies of the country.

In his welcoming speech Director General of ROSATOM Alexey Likachev noted: “Today, the large national combined team is with us; the combined team of professionals of the country, and for that particular combined team is feasible to create the technological mode of this century in this country. You have an important mission – to accomplish the fourth technological revolution, bring the country to new highly efficient productions. You have proven that you are on first-name terms with these technologies and that they are within your control.”

The ROSATOM’s combined team demonstrated a high level professionalism surpassing its result of the past year. This year, representatives of 10 divisions of the sector performed in 27 competences of the championship: key competitions, championships WorldSkills Juniors and “Skills of the Wise”. In total, they brought 58 medals – 42 gold, 10 silver and 6 bronze medals – in the money-box of the ROSATOM’s combined team. At this, the ROSATOM combined team won 27 medals (22 gold and 5 silver medals) in the key competitions of the National Finals.

The ROSATOM’s junior team demonstrated perfect training by taking part in 10 out of 22 competences of WorldSkills Juniors championship and brought to the combined team’s money-box 14 medals: 5 gold, 4 silver and 5 bronze medals. In total, in the WorldSkills Juniors championship 149 competitors rivaled 22 gold, 24 silver and 21 bronze medals.

The result of ROSATOM’s participants of the I National Championship “Skills of the Wise” should be especially noted. ROSATOM’s 11 participants won 9 awards: seven gold, one silver and one bronze medals. In total, 12 gold, 12 silver and 9 bronze medals were competed for. 

For the first time in the championship history, two participants of the ROSATOM’s combined team became owners of the certificates “The Master of Industry Development” of the Industry Development Fund (IDF). Chemical lab assistant Svetlana Tegentseva and her expert, chemical engineer Yulia Razina, from JSC Urals Electrochemical Combine won in the competence “Laboratory and Chemical Analysis”. They scored most points (565) for carrying out competition tasks among all competences in the category “engineering and production technologies”. Certificates given to them at the closing ceremony by Deputy Director of IDF Anrey Manoilo give the right to get RUB 1 million.

The WorldSkills Hi-Tech 2019 site also hosted competitions of more than 150 competitors and experts, international partners, representatives of governmental structures and educational establishments in the framework of the II Open Eurasian Championship to the standards of WorldSkills and BRICS Future Skills Challenge 2019 championship. In the framework of the championship, ROSATOM won 8 out of 16 gold medals of Russia’s combined team. Participants from Belarus and Kazakhstan won four medals each; Mongolia won one medal and the combined team of Iran won one medal.
