On April 15, in Sochi, Rusatom Healthcare JSC, Rusatom International Network (RIN) industrial complex and the Institute of Nuclear Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of cooperation in radiation technologies and nuclear medicine.
The document was signed on the sidelines of the XI ATOMEXPO-2019 International Forum. On the part of Rusatom Healthcare, the document was signed by General Director Alexander Shibanov, on the part of RIN – Alexander Merten, on the Uzbek side – by the President of the Academy of Sciences Behzod Yuldashev.
In the framework of memorandum, the parties agreed to work out jointly a project on creation of cyclotron radiochemical production on the site of the Institute of Nuclear Physics of Uzbekistan, which involves the production of radioisotope products in Uzbekistan and its realization both domestically and abroad.
The agreement also includes a project on creation of a multi-purpose radiation center (MRC) in Uzbekistan, which will provide radiation treatment services on a contractual basis to manufacturers of medical devices and agricultural products.
“The signed document opens for us new horizons of cooperation in such promising scientific and technical areas as the production of radioisotope products, new materials and radiation processing. The development of the use of modern radiation technologies in Uzbekistan will contribute to the improvement of the quality of our agricultural products, as well as an increase in the volume of exports,” B. Yuldashev commented on the signing.
