Kirill Seleznev, Director General of RusKhimAlyans, and Alexander Drozdenko, Governor of the Leningrad Region, today signed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019 an Agreement on social and economic cooperation.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Konstantin Makhov, Chief Executive Officer of RusGazDobycha.
In line with the document, the parties will join efforts in dealing with economic, legal, organizational, technical and other issues related to the creation of a large-scale complex for natural gas processing and liquefaction near Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region.
Background
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2019 is being held at the EXPOFORUM Convention and Exhibition Centre from June 6 to 8. This year’s key topic is Creating a Sustainable Development Agenda.
On March 29, 2019, Gazprom and RusGazDobycha made a decision on the final configuration of the project for a large-scale complex that will process ethane-containing gas and produce liquefied natural gas near Ust-Luga, Leningrad Region. The operator of the project is RusKhimAlyans, a special-purpose company established on a parity basis by Gazprom and RusGazDobycha.
RusGazDobycha is a special-purpose company created by the National Chemical Group to increase the efficiency of the production chain, get access to resources (natural gas), and invest in feedstock production and processing facilities.
