“BIM – Management”, the international educational and hands-on project of ROSATOM’s Engineering Division has been awarded with a special certificate of the GPM Awards Russia 2021 national competition for professional project management in the area of sustainable development.
The project has been implemented since 2020, the training module makes it possible to improve professional competencies in the digital design and project-thinking skills of the specialists involved in BIM projects. In the first academic year, some 2,449 applications were submitted by students of the Rosatom specialized universities, nuclear industry employees and third-party (construction, design, etc.) companies’ agents representing 25 countries and willing to participate in the project. Based on the training results, the participants have designed more than 800 buildings in Nizhny Novgorod. In the current academic year, more than 2,800 applications have been submitted from 33 countries by those willing to participate in the project.
“The high appraisal of our educational project confirms the relevance of digital technologies and the demand for professions in this area in the labor market,” said Alexey Agafonov, Atomenergoproekt JSC Director for project manufacturing support and development – Head of ROSATOM “Engineering Design” Industry competence center. – The significance of this special certificate is also proved by the fact that the certificate delivery was launched by US and German organizations operating in the area of instilling a sustainable project management culture. Our project’s success being recognized by the professional international community is an important incentive for further work”.
The project is being implemented jointly with Vysotskiy consulting, the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the “Russian Student Teams” Nizhny Novgorod Regional branch of the all-Russian youth public organization, Altec Systems and supported by the Ministry of Town-Planning and Agglomeration Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
