In January 2022 Russia’s NPPs increased electricity production by 3.37%

In the first month of 2022 nuclear power plants (NPPs) of Russia (branches of Rosenergoatom JSC, Power Division of ROSATOM) increased electricity production by 3.37% as compared to the similar period of the preceding year.

In January, generation was more than 20 bln kWh or 103.81% of the target of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia. Thus, 733.87 mln kWh were generated in excess of the FAS target over this time.

In the said period all Russia’s NPPs operated preventing releases of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere in the amount of over 10 mln tons in CO2 equivalent.
