ROSATOM Director General Alexey Likhachev, First Deputy Director General for Development and International Business Kirill Komarov, Deputy Director General for Human Resources Tatyana Terentyeva, and other ROSATOM executives take part in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2022) on June 15-18.
On June 16, Alexey Likhachev will take part in the plenary session Northern Sea Route: An International Transport Corridor, where the participants will discuss a number of issues, including the impact of the NSR on the economy of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation, achieving the goal of 80 million tons of cargo flow along the NSR in 2024 under new geopolitical and economic conditions, and the steps to be taken to ensure year-round and safe navigation.
ROSATOM’s own event – Does Ecology Serve Business, or Does Business Serve Ecology session – will be held on June 17 within SPIEF business program. Participation of Russian Deputy Prime Minister Victoria Abramchenko, Head of Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resources Svetlana Radionova, Special Presidential Envoy for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport Sergey Ivanov and the Rosatom CEO is expected. The key goal of the session is to discuss environmental problems and their significance in the context of sustainable development.
On June 17, Alexey Likhachev will take part in the session Global Challenges of the Energy Mix in 2022. The session participants will discuss whether Europe will build up NPP capacity in the coming years and whether there will be a boom in construction of small modular reactors.
Alexey Likhachev also plans to take part in the sessions The Young as a Driver of Socio-Economic Development in an Era of Change and Getting a Visa to the Land of Opportunity.
On June 16, Kirill Komarov will take part in the sessions Green Energy: Current Challenges and Exporting Technological Sovereignty: Trust and Sustainability in the Current Environment.
Also on June 16, Tatyana Terentyeva will take part in the session How to Provide the Russian Economy with the Qualified Personnel? and on June 17, in the How will Social Programmes Change in the New Reality? She will also present Rosatom’s key scientific projects at the session Growth Points: At the Start of the Science and Technology Decade to be held as part of the forum’s youth program.
Yekaterina Solntseva, Rosatom Director for Digitalization will take part in the session Quantum Technologies and the Economy of Tomorrow, where the participants will discuss to what extent quantum technologies can provide the world economic breakthrough and on what time horizon full-scale implementation of quantum technologies in Russia and throughout the world is possible.
As part of the preparation for the Decade of Science and Technology declared by the President of Russia in April, the representatives of ROSATOM will take part in the relevant sections. Viktor Ilgisonis, Director of ROSATOM’s Research and Development Division, will speak at the panel session Major Challenges of the Science and Technology Decade, where he will discuss the current state and role of science in the national and global development. Pavel Zaytsev, the Director General of Science and Innovations JSC (the managing company of Rosatom`s scientific division) will share ROSATOM`s experience in the discussion From Knowledge Economy to Talent Economy about the involvement and engagement of talented youth into large-scale nuclear projects.
ROSATOM representatives will also take part in the Arctic: Territory of Dialogue Forum. On June 15, Vyacheslav Ruksha, Deputy CEO and Director of NSR Directorate, will speak at the international seminar on shipbuilding and ship repair in the Arctic. On June 17, Tatyana Terentyeva will speak at the session Women in the Arctic: Cooperation for Sustainable Development, while Vladimir Panov, special representative of Rosatom for Arctic development, deputy chairman of the State Commission for Arctic Development, will take part in the session Investment Projects in the Arctic: Incentive Regimes.
More than 20 agreements between ROSATOM, representatives of companies and governments of the Russian Federation constituent entities have been scheduled. A number of working meetings, including those with the leadership of partner countries and representatives of international business community will be held.
ROSATOM will present its own stand at the forum in pavilion F of Expoforum Convention and Exhibition Centre. On the one hand, the exposition will recreate the image of the facade of the main building of Rosatom in Moscow, and on the other hand, it will feature elements of modern futuristic design intended to emphasize the image of a high-tech corporation.
